Science Fiction: Worlds Beyond the Page Original Artwork 8x10"

An open book transforms into a glowing nebula, with a starship exploring a distant ringed planet. This is part of my Book Genres Come to Life series, where I paint different genres as the worlds they create.

Painting space is one of my favorite things to do in watercolor. Wet-on-wet techniques create beautiful blooms and soft color transitions that are perfect for nebulas and the Milky Way, so this subject is always a lot of fun for me to paint.

I hope this piece brings back the feeling of opening a favorite sci-fi novel and getting completely lost in another universe.
